Requirements for voting in Illinois

  1. You must be a United States Citizen.
  2. You must be 17 years old on or before the date of the Primary Election (November 6) and turn 18 on or before the date of the General Election (November 6).
  3. You must live in your election precinct at least 30 days prior to Election Day.
  4. You must not be serving a sentence of confinement in any penal institution as a result of a conviction.
  5. You may not claim the right to vote anywhere else.

  1. Know your precinct. It is on your tax bill, voter cards or on the website.
  2. Check your registration status
  3. Mark key dates including early election dates. Vote early in any election station in lake county.
  4. Obtain vote by mail forms if more convenient
  5. Check website for Candidate’s after oct 7
  6. Attend Candidate forums
  7. Register with NIAMA for information on candidates etc
